TROUBLESHOOTING PAGE

My credit card was declined when I tried to purchase the courses?
The most likely reason that your credit card was declined is that the billing address that you provided in your student registration does not match the billing address of your credit card. Change the billing address in your student registration and try checking out again. You can also try using a different credit card.

I keep getting a message that says "Timer Disabled". What does that mean?
The website uses a security feature to prevent students from taking multiple courses at the same time. If the website detects that two timers are running at the same time, you will get this error message. If you are only taking one course at a time, try these steps to fix the problem:
  • Sign Out of the Adcox Group website.
  • Close your web browser.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Sign into the Adcox Group website.
  • Start your course.

You can also switch to the Simple Timer feature which allows you to manually save the timer on each page of the course. To switch to the Simple Timer, follow these steps:

  • Sign In to the Adcox Group website.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the My Courses page. You will see a link to "Switch to the Simple Timer". Click this link.
  • On the My Course page, click on one of your courses.
  • You will see the Table of Contents and the required time remaining. Click on a lesson link below the table of contents.
  • You will see the lesson content and the timer counting down. When you are finished reviewing the page, click the big green "Save Timer" link at the top-left.
  • On the next page, you can verify that the timer was saved at the correct time.
  • Once the timer gets to 0:00, you will see a link to take the final exam.

The timer is not working when I am taking the course. What is the problem?
Sometimes the timer can have trouble if your web browser cannot communicate properly with the Adcox Group web server. Your security settings, anti-virus program or Internet connection may be the problem. Try these steps to fix the problem:

I watched the timer count down while I was taking a course, but on the next page, the timer showed a larger number. What do I do now?
While you are viewing a course, your web browser is communicating with our server about the amount of time you have spent in the course. Sometimes if the Internet connection gets disconnected, or your computer crashes, the timer will not reflect the full amount of time that you have spent in the course.
To correct the timer, please email John at john@adcoxgroup.com and explain the problem you are having with the timer. If we can verify the lost time, we will update the timer to the correct amount.

What is the difference between the Automatic Timer and the Simple Timer?
The Automatic Timer manages your progess towards the Required Time for each course. Each time you open the course, the timer starts counting. When you click to another page or close your web browser, the timer automatically stops counting. This feature requires advanced JavaScript to be enabled in your web browser. If you have trouble using the Automatic Timer, you should switch to the Simple Timer.
The Simple Timer allows you to manually save the timer on each page of the course. This is useful for users who have web browsers or anti-virus software that are not compatible with the Automatic Timer.
